Think for a moment. What’s the one thing your mother says to you almost every day? Hint: mom likes to keep it simple, using short phrases that will capture your attention and last in your memory the entire day. Neatly placed in her bag of mom phrases, she keeps this message ready to go before you can even step one foot outside the door. “Be Careful.”
Mothers of the world unite to remind their kids of safety, uttering a familiar phrase that children have heard to the point of nausea - a warning of potential danger that may occur when exiting the house. Beware. The weatherman is not your friend. A real friend wouldn’t lie to you half the time and think it’s OK. Best to trust your own judgment and prepare for whatever Mother Nature throws at you. A piece of solid advice would be to pack a storm preparedness kit just in case. And lucky for you, Rayovac has mastered the art of making batteries, flashlights, lanterns and portable power that can help you weather any storm!
Sure, the weatherman has the gizmos and gadgets to predict the weather with near accuracy, but in the end it’s just an educated guess. Truth is, the weatherman’s favorite holiday is April Fools’ Day, the only day of the year when the forecast is right regardless of what actually happens. “Happy April 1st– today’s forecast includes rain and patchy fog…April Fools!” A played out joke, overused since the stone age of meteorology.
A month filled with storms is nothing to joke about. April weather can be dangerous and having a storm kit handy is the only way to protect your power and keep your family safe. Rayovac’s full line of flashlights feature battery operated LED's and general-purpose lights that come in handy in a pinch. Ten times more trustworthy than your average weatherperson, the LED 3AAA Glow In The Dark Flashlight lights up the room and helps you see where you’re going. More...

Whining in anticipation, your puppy Lucky is waiting by the door for you to put on your shoes and grab your things to go on your daily walk. Unfortunately, little do the both of you know that in addition to your wallet, keys, and phone, you should have grabbed your external cell phone battery charger to bring along.
Your morning routine has been the same for a while now—you get up early, before some people are even awake, and take a few laps around the local park with your dog as your only companion. Normally pretty mundane, it's likely that you always take the same path in the morning. This morning is different, however. Lucky spots the first bunny of her young life, and bolts. It's unexpected, and Lucky's Labrador strength wins out over the weak training leash you have her on, and you find yourself on the ground, with pain shooting up one of your legs.
What are you to do? Lucky isn't too much help licking your face, and it might be an hour or more before a stranger happens upon you who could help. Frustrated, you realize that you would have been able to call for help if you had grabbed your external cell phone battery charger before you left so that you could have charged your phone when you needed it most. You resolve to make sure to pack it every time you have an outdoor adventure in the future. After all, you realize, in similar situations, an external charger could give you access to: More...

Picture yourself on your way to your dream vacation, all of your worries behind you, and the last thing on your mind is whether you packed your portable iPhone charger. Once you arrive at the airport however, you find yourself stuck because of unforeseen delays or canceled flights. Frustrated, you take out your phone to let your friends and family know, but instead of a bright screen, you see the awful blinking red light informing you that your battery has died.
Inevitably, you forgot to charge your phone the night before and there are no convenient outlets available for you to plug in your phone at the airport. Now you are stuck, disconnected and bored—left with no choice but to stare constantly at the slowly moving clock, irritated that you are not yet in paradise.
Imagine instead a different scenario. After you are delayed at the airport and pull out your phone, upset that it doesn't have any power, you remember packing a portable iPhone charger in your bag just in case. Woohoo! This story is now a much different one. While you'll still have to sit in the uncomfortable airport seats, you won't be bored or disconnected. Your portable power affords you access to important information that you would otherwise miss: More...

When I began putting together the emergency disaster kit for the apartment I shared with my roommate, John, it never occurred to me that something as small and simple as a USB battery pack would end up being the thing that saved our lives.
Ironically, our emergency disaster kit was the source of a long and somewhat heated debate between us. All roommates have their unique squabbles, and John and I are no different. Our dynamic can easily be put into perspective with the fact that his nickname for me is "Mom" because I'm a planner and an organizer. I like the house neat, things in their place, and I like to go to bed around the same time every night. John, however, is much more casual about his lifestyle and he couldn't care less if the cups go back in the same cabinet every time, or at all. And, I'm still not convinced he isn't a vampire, as he never seems to sleep—at least on a normal schedule. More...

That's an easy one: an emergency cell phone charger and a can of soup are both packed in your little black go-bag. Right now, however, it's the furthest thing from your mind as you juggle a job, the kids' schedules, meal preparation, and other errands. But knowing that it's tucked away at the bottom of your pantry makes you feel secure that it's there, just in case.
Your expecting sister-in-law, Bev, is the one who brings it to your attention when she is visiting and goes into the pantry for a snack. She reaches for the jar of peanuts, her latest craving, and asks you what that odd black bag is doing in your pantry. It takes you a second to realize what she is talking about, but you figure out it must be your go-bag for emergencies. It's easy to explain to Bev what it is, but more difficult to convince her that it's necessary. After all, she says, why bother if emergencies rarely happen around here? More...
