High-profile brands are always looking for new and creative ways to communicate with consumers using social media. In the realm of Rapid-Response Twitter campaigns, Rayovac has had the upper hand, becoming a top-ten trending topic in the U.S. for a second time.
This Thursday – December 20th, 2012 – Rayovac threw an hour-long virtual Snow Party where consumers could answer fun and often times challenging trivia questions. Over $1,200 in “Snow Pack” prizes were awarded to the trivia winners. At one point during the Snow Party, #rayovac was the 3rd most popular hashtag being used across the United States.
With large snowstorms blanketing many areas of the country, throwing a winter-themed Twitter party gave many more consumers the chance to attend the party and make good on their RSVP. Being cooped up at home made an afternoon party with Rayovac the place to be.
A common goal shared by many brands on Twitter is to become a nationally trending topic and as a result see an increase in followers. On Thursday, Rayovac succeeded on both fronts, welcoming droves of followers to its verified Twitter account and trending nationally for the second time in the past two years. To sum it up, the Rayovac Snow Party was yet another social success that was accomplished by thinking outside the box.
